Torquespeed are sitting comfortably at the top of the league so we knew this would be a tough game. However, Blaze have always raised their game when needed in the past and we hoped today would no different. And so it proved. Blaze started very brightly and took the lead after 10 minutes with a sharp finish from Macsween, his 4th of the season. 1-0 up versus the unbeaten league leaders and looking relatively comfortable! It took Torquespeed until just before half time to get back into the game when some slack marking allowed an easy finish.
We knew that the second half would be a tougher proposition playing uphill, and once again, so it proved. You could not fault Blaze's application and effort but without being able to hold the ball upfront, the constant pressure told and Torquespeed took the lead mid way through the half. A deserved third was added near the end. The team missed Price's influence in midfield but the performance was full of heart and desire epitomised by centre half Johnson who had an outstanding match.
