This was a hard fought match in blustery conditions. Blaze played some excellent passing football in H1 and there were chances at both ends. Blaze took the lead mid way through the half - Paterson played a fine ball down the line to Macsween who skipped round a defender and crossed a fine ball into the box. Monsell fooled everyone (including himself !) with a dummy and the ball fell to Hills who turned it in. 1-0 to Blaze at the break although the Beacon Hill boys were left rueing some good opportunities. The second half was a different affair and BH had more of the play and territorial possession as Blaze fought to clear their lines up the slope. BH deservedly got their rewards with a smartly hit equaliser that left Harris with no chance. BH worked hard for the winner but Harris, whose handling was faultless once again, and the defence held out for a deserved draw. The team goes to Heybridge next week full of confidence hoping for a good cup run.
