After a short break it was nice to get back to playing - in lovely autumn sunshine. Our lads were up for it and started very brightly creating a couple of great chances in the opening minutes and applying pressure from the off. This paid off with Hughesy springing the offside on the inside left to calmly place in the bottom corner of the net. We continued to work the flanks and in particular the left hand side and were rewarded for our persistence with Jasper finishing from close range after some good work from Michael and Hughesy, finishing a fine move from Ryan and Ben. Hughesys second was the pick of the bunch though, spotting the keeper off his line and chipping from the right corner of the box with his left foot over him and high into the net. Then a rare visit forward from Ben found him closing in on goal with a 1-2 assist from Hughesy he followed up his initially saved shot to calmly net in the far post from the left hand side. 4-0 at half time a fair refelction of our dominance, with the visitors only making a few half chances.
In the second half we continued to work the flanks, but struggled to find the clear chances and their keeper making some fine saves - but we did keep playing our football, that at times was as good as it has been all season with everyone contributing. Michael continues to impress in midfield and it was his mazey run and well saved shot, that enabled Reece to follow up and smash in from close range.
We continued to defend well, but a through ball in the closing minutes put their forward clear, but our stand in keeper Issac, timed his save to perfection to close out a clean sheet.
A good result that puts us on the board and climing the table....
