Player of the Match
We wanted a reaction after last weeks game and we got one. We started very brightly and carved out several chances, but just could not break through with Spartak defending very well. At the other end, our defence looked strong and organised, giving the visitors few chances. 0-0 at half time.
We came out after the break and continued to look dangerous, but again our chances just could not find the net. Then came the sucker punch, a missed chance to clear our lines allowed the ball to come back into the danger area. We tried to get the ball out, but the forward went over...penalty! They made no mistake, smashing the ball past Jack.
This seemed to fire us up and within 2 mins were level. Some great work by Andrew, then some neat and strong play by him and Josh set Jack free. This time, he cooly drove the ball low and hard into the near post - game on.
We managed to create yet more chances and the visitors also went close as both teams went for the win...but neither side could capitalise.
A draw is a great result and everyone worked very hard and played a part. We will now take some belief into the next game as we find our feet in this league.
